    Say cheers to the New Year

    When: Thursday 25th – Saturday 27th January
    Where: Manchester Central

    Forget the post-Christmas lull this January and raise a glass with your pals at the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival. You can take your pick from over 500 beers, ciders and perries, as well as chow down on hot roast beef barms and homemade pies *drools*.

    Dry January alternative - See London light up

    When: Thursday 18th – Sunday 21st January
    Where: King’s Cross, Fitzrovia, the West End, Mayfair, Westminster & Victoria, and South Bank & Waterloo.

    If you’re taking part in Dry January, then first of all, kudos to you *insert clapping hands emoji*. Secondly, why not swap a boozy night for a visit to the free Lumiere London? Over 40 UK and international artists will transform London’s iconic architecture and streets into a dazzling art exhibition.

    Run away to the circus

    Where: Various central locations in Blackpool

    Roll up, roll up! The Showzam circus is heading into Blackpool this February is set to be a mesmerizing celebration of all things magic. From tightrope walkers and street artists, to underwater bubble shows and contortionists, now is your chance to see the circus like never before.

    Have a pawesome time with the kids

    Where: NEC, Birmingham

    If you’re little ones love dogs, they’ll go absolutely barking mad this February with a trip to Crufts, the world’s largest dog show. Even better yet – under eights go free!

    Rock out to musical legends

    Where: Donington Park

    If headbanging and mosh pits are your kind of thing, Download Festival is the one for you. Set to rip up the stage in 2018 are Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Bullet For My Valentine and Marilyn Manson – to name just a few!

    Party in the Peak District

    When: 26th – 29th July
    Where: Mouldridge Lane, Pikehall near Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 2PH

    With festival season in full swing, make sure you add Y Not to your list for July. Set in the gorgeous Peak District countryside, it’s a haven for indie-rock lovers and brings in both big-name acts and up-and-coming artists.

    Always wanted to ride a hot air balloon? Well, now you can at Bristol International Balloon Fiesta! Or if you’d prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, you can watch over 130 hot air balloons from across the globe launch as the sun rises.

    Attend the ultimate musical concert

    When: Friday 13th July – Saturday 8th September
    Where: Royal Albert Hall

    It’s the biggest classical music concert on Earth and, believe it or not, you can grab a standing ticket for the glorious BBC Proms from just £6. Bargain!

    Have a day at the funfair

    As one of the highlights of Nottingham’s event calendar (and has been since its start date in… 1284, can you believe it?!), at 
    The Goose Fair, you can enjoy over 500 attractions including ride white knuckle rides, helter skelters, hook a ducks, and lip-smackingly good food.

    For the hottest Bonfire Night in all of London, head to the Palace. No – not that one! We’re talking Alexandra Palace, where they’re kicking off the winter party season with a DJ, ice skating rink and sumptuous street food.
