On Shrove Tuesday we visited the village of Olney in Buckinghamshire where for almost 700 years the resident womenfolk have been competing in a pancake race along the streets of this rural idyll.
It attracts visitors and spectators from all over the world and since 1950 has been run in competition with a town in Kansas called Liberal (made famous as the home of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz). Watch our little film to find out who was victorious.
Our National Wonders tour will take in events throughout the year all across this great nation of ours as we seek out the fun side of our personalities and find the people and places that put a smile on our faces.
Join us on the journey as we ask: Is this really how the UK spends a day?
