Magical Christmas Markets you don’t want to miss

What better way is there to get yourself into the festive spirit? Yep, it’s that time of the year again. Christmas Markets have returned and we couldn’t be happier. Soon the aroma of roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and yuletide spices will be smelt across a town or city near you.

Nothing beats walking through the fairy tale world of a Christmas market. The sights, smells and tastes (our favourite part) are unique to any other festival or celebration. The beautiful stalls selling all kinds of handmade crafts, the banquets-worth of delicious festive food to sample and of course the merry tipple (our second favourite part) all help to create a dreamlike atmosphere.

Each area of the UK will be adding their own distinctive twist on this old tradition. So join us as we take you on a journey through the magical Christmas Markets you don’t want to miss.

Blissful Markets in Birmingham

15 November – 23 December

As the biggest Christmas Market in the UK, it’s no surprise that Birmingham is on the list. Now entering, remarkably, its 17th year, the market has become a mainstay in the Christmas calendar. With over 120 unique stalls stretching along New Street and Victoria Square there’s something for all the family. And if the stalls don’t take your fancy, then maybe the ferris wheel and ice rink will. Enjoy amazing views high above our second city and glide along the ice with friends. Or in our case, slowly shuffle!

Ice Adventures in Edinburgh

Edinburgh’s George Street Festive Market is a fan favourite at Christmas time and its spectacular new ice adventure is sure to bring in crowds from around the country. Taking you on a journey around frozen Scotland, this popular attraction features a giant advent calendar projection, breath-taking ice sculptures and fun-filled rides. Don’t worry, kilts are optional!

Beautifully Festive Bath

22 November – 9 December

See Bath in a new light this winter, Christmas lights that is, when its award-winning market returns. As one of the UK’s biggest markets, it’s over 180 stalls long and stretches across the streets surrounding the beautiful Roman Baths. Take in the exquisite sights, sounds and smells of Christmas whilst sampling what Bath’s local stallholders have to offer. Did you know 80% of the market’s stalls are from Bath and the local area?

Mistletoe in Manchester

9 November – 23 December

See Manchester transformed into a winter wonderland as its Christmas Markets return for another year. Spread out across the city with more than 300 beautifully decorated stalls, the markets will feature delicate arts and crafts, cuisine from around the globe, in addition to European and local produce. Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere as the trail winds itself around the city centre, and be sure to look out for the huge lit up Santa Claus as well, as he is definitely coming to town.

Twinkling Lights in London

9 November – 6 January

See Leicester Square like never before as it’s transformed into a jolly Christmas Village. As one of our smaller Christmas Markets, Leicester Square only features 25 stalls. However, it is home to a magnificent Belgian Spiegeltent, a huge, velvet-wrapped tent featuring amazing shows to entertain any who step inside. The Showstoppers Christmas Kids Show is a big favourite!
