  • Best for: The fun loving Dad

Things to do: Have a barrel of laughs together (and temporarily step away from those Dad jokes) at The 99 Club on 17th June for just £12 a ticket. Or, enjoy free film and sports screenings, as well as street food and live music at London Bridge City Summer Festival along the Thames.

Top restaurants: Bao, Baozilnn, Berber & Shawarma Bar, Bibimbap

Birmingham

  • Best for: The Dad mad for DIY

Things to do: If your old man’s got green fingers, he’ll be in horticultural heaven at BBC Gardeners World Live. Or if he’s a foodie, you can’t go wrong with a trip to the BBC Good Food Show (the free samples alone are reason enough to visit!). Why not take your day in Brum one step further with a trip to the BBC Birmingham studios? Dad can enjoy a 90 minute tour, have a photo taken with the TARDIS, and even try his hand at presenting the weather!

Top restaurants: Digbeth Dining Club, The Meat Shack, Ristorante Caffe Gustrami

Bristol

  • Things to do:

Get Dad to don his most garish Hawaiian shirt and dance his socks off at the Big Fish Little Fish Father’s Day Family Rave. Fun for all the family, there will be DJs, glitter cannons, bubbles and a giant parachute dance too.

Top restaurants: Fi Real, Matina, Cafe Amore, The White Rabbit

Cardiff

  • Best for: The outdoorsy Dad

Things to do: It doesn’t get more outdoorsy than going fishing, so why not take Dad to Cefn Mably Lakes or Canada Lodge Lake? Or if Dad secretly fancies himself as the next Rory McIlroy, let him show off his skills with a game of Pitch and Putt at Heath Park. If you want to do something different, check out FootGolf and RugbyGolf while you’re there too!

Top restaurants: Mint Curry, Falafel Kitchen, The Hellenic Eatery
