    When: 4th Sept – 30th Oct

In honour of Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday there have been numerous Dahl-inspired events happening all across the country, but we have to say, we think this *might* be the best one yet! An adult-only event that promises to provide all the gleefully grotesque treats that we’ve come to expect from his stories, all served up by Mr and Mrs Twits. It’s going to be amazing!

It may be September, but that doesn’t mean all the good weather has been and gone. Make the most of the last days of summer by spending it in the pretty surroundings of the Botanical Gardens. With performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Country Festival, and Heritage Open Days there’s plenty to see and do over the next month.

    Visit Manchester on Derby day

Nothing quite beats the atmosphere of Manchester on Derby day and if you want a taste of the action you need to be in the city on 10th September. Manchester United and Manchester City will be having their first clash of the season with Mourinho and Guardiola looking to renew their rivalries. Your best bet? Seeing as tickets are pretty pricey now we suggest grabbing your best mates and hitting one of the many pubs that will be screening the match live – the atmosphere is sure to be electric!
