Bath

    Channel a Victorian Christmas in beautiful Bath

    When: Thursday 23rd November – Sunday 10th December
    Where: Abbey Chambers, 2 York St, Bath

    For a picture-perfect Christmas, Bath is the place to go. Take a leisurely stroll through the city’s beautiful Georgian streets and you’ll soon be lapping up scents of mulled wine and warming food. Bliss! Or, if you fancy a change of scenery (quite literally), why not visit the Theatre Royal and watch the Christmas pantomime, Snow White? With comedy, slapstick and the classic audience participation, even the biggest Scrooge will crack a smile.

    Feel the magic at Winter Wonderland

    When: Saturday 18th November – Monday 1st January
    Where: Hyde Park, London

    Forget seeing Santa in Lapland – London’s Winter Wonderland is where it’s at! With around 200 fairy-lit Bavarian style wooden chalets, it’s perfect for picking up unique gifts that your friends and family will love. If you’re travelling with tiny tots, be sure to take them ice skating and to the Sooty Christmas Show! Or, if you’re kid-free and planning to get very merry with your friends and family, check out the new Bar Hütte for karaoke and cocktails.

Birmingham

    Get a taste of Germany in Birmingham

    When: Thursday 16th November – Sunday 24th December
    Where: Victoria Square, New Street, Birmingham

    It’s the largest Christmas market outside of Germany, and it wouldn’t be the season to be jolly in Birmingham without a visit to the city’s famous Frankfurt Christmas Market. You’ll find all manner of German cuisine like Bratwurst, Krakauer, Feuerwurst (all sausages, btw!), as well as sweet favourites like pretzels, Berliner doughnuts… and, madly enough, there’s even a garlic bread stall shaped like a garlic clove! After you’ve let all those delicious delights go down, a ride on the carousel or the big wheel is a must.

    Make a weekend of it in Edinburgh

    If you’re craving a winter weekend escape, take a festive road trip on the coach to the city of Edinburgh. In amongst its traditional and romantic Christmas markets is the family-friendly Santa Land, featuring a Christmas tree maze, candy cane bungees (yes, really!), and a reindeer ride. Who knows – the little ones may actually see a white Christmas for the first time too!
